Motorola CEO Greg Brown made very important announcement today at press conference saying that the company is going to split into two divisions, first of which will be Mobile Devices, handling design, production and sales of handsets and accessories, and second division will be Broadband and Mobility Solutions division which will continue to provide voice data communication solutions services to enterprises and governments.

Personally I am big fan of this company and its RAZR mobile phone series, when this phone was released I remember downloading large pictures of this phone just to look at it. 6 months or so later when prices went down and the phone became affordable to a student budget I bought one, Motorola V3 RAZR Black for 200 USD. The design of the device is so cool and stylish, especially black color gives very special look and feel to the device. Used it for like half a year and gave it to my sister who fall in love with this phone first time she saw it:)

Going back to Motorola Corporation division, I think it is a smart move, when companies grow this big production and product release always slow down, and once Motorola is producing different product and services I guess separating divisions would be better. Also this decision will help to settle some internal problems Motorola has among its board of directors and shareholders, as far as I understood. Anyway, Good Luck Motorola, release more cool phones, we love them:)
